Hi there
i started my isolation with a broken wrist so discovered one handed living for a while. The cast came off last week so I have a little more freedom. Here in Cyprus we have curfew between 9.00pm and 5.00am and must ask permission by text to leave our properties (one short outing a day, except for medical or veterinary reasons). I was preparing to walk the Santiago del Camino in April and then a couple of weeks roaming around Spain finishing up with a day at the Madrid Open. Although I have had a couple of wobbles over this isolation, I do count my blessings and just hope this is over soon and we can travel again. Spending my time trying to learn some Greek as I now live in Cyprus but at times am climbing the walls as I moved here to enable me to see so much more of the world. It seems we have several more weeks of isolation yet so if anyone fancies a chat, I shall be at home and look forward to ‘meeting’ you! Yammas!
Hi Teresa, I love Cyprus where about's are you ? I stayed in Episkopi and had a fabulous two weeks. We drove up into the mountains and lost all phone signal to find 3 beautiful waterfalls and a blue lagoon - cant remember what that was called was some time ago now! The UK has not reached such strict measures yet however I fell they should do just to get this curbed and stopped! I have been happily divorced for some years now and live on my own, the hardest part for me is not seeing family and missing my bridge club. I am sure the weather will be nice for you even in isolation. Do you have an outside space ? I am so thankful for my garden.
Hello Mandy
how lovely to hear from you. I live on the south eastern side of the island between Ayia Napa and Larnaca and i really like both locations. I have been to Limassol several times but, so far I haven’t been any further nor have I been to the Troodos yet. A wonderful friend who lives in Limassol managed to get a day of skiing in the Troodos, a few weeks before the lockdown - she’s in her early 70s! I have a ‘penthouse’ flat with the most terrific views and some pot plants to look after and, when we are allowed, it is easy to get to the North of the island as two crossings are very close by. Lots of friends and acquaintances here but I have such itchy feet and just want to get out and travel. I really do appreciate that this is not an easy time for everyone and am mostly coping with the lockdown. So sad for people who are losing their lives and.the difficult emotions their relations go through when they cannot be close to their loved ones At their last moments. Hoping you are doing OK. It would be lovely if you’d like to stay in touch and let me know about your travelling experiences. Cheers. Teresa
I know what you mean about itchy feet this is really hard not seeing my family etc.. Its for the greater good so will keep doing my bit. I have my fingers crossed the UK hits a peak and things will get back to normal. We have glorious sunshine here today!! I will be joining a virtual Easter hunt at the weekend with my grandchildren via watsapp. Thank goodness for modern day technology!! Without it the world would be a very lonely place right now. Travelling experiences are obviously on hold but my favorite place is Malta - I love the people the food and the history. I have been going for 20 years and will hope to get there again soon. My daughter lives in Spain which is great as I stay with her a few times a year and christmas. I do love to travel and I am lucky really to have been so many places already.
hi we are all with you - so very tiring this isolation. But we are awaiting a new Wirld I guess of connecting to people real time hurrah !!
